#3: Reinventing Your Image

Tom is one third of the directing collective Crowns & Owls. They describe themselves as an independent trio of image makers specialising in film, photography and creative direction.

They are three lads from Yorkshire who connected through their love of skateboarding and soon found a shared passion for filmmaking.

They have made music videos for such artists as Slowthai, Skepta and most recently Nemahsis. Their commercial work stretches from huge campaigns for Diesel and Nike, and now dipping their toes in long form creative direction.

We convinced Tom Harrison to come round for a brew. Here’s some key sound bites.

“We’re three Northern men, especially from where we’re from, people don’t talk about mental health…it’s a really big part of our work.”

“The industry tries to label you as a photographer, or a director, or a DP. We didn’t want to be labelled. We just wanted to be seen as people with good ideas and execute things in a way that hopefully, people recognise as our work”
