#12: This Game Waits For No One

Head Of Talent, Charlie Roberson

In this conversation we speak to the head of talent at Rogue Films, Charlie Roberson. We discuss his journey into the industry, finding talent and making yourself visible as a director.

Charlie represents top flight talent and works alongside some of the most prestigious production teams in the business, with whom he is developing many exciting creative ventures. He has a sharp eye for spotting gifted individuals and a passion for supporting them. Prior to his appointment at Rogue, Charlie was Head of Sales at Stink for three years, contributing to an incredibly successful time for the international production company.

He loves it! Here’s some key sound bites from our chat with Charlie.

“You are a conduit between the people that want to make and the talent. And if you can effectively communicate that fact, then I think thats the key.”

“You got to be persistent. This game waits for no one. You’ve only made it to the last job, it can all disappear”

“Be relevant. Talk within the industry. Be involved with panels. Be involved with the game. Because if you suffer from thinking ‘what’s coming next’ it will cripple you”

“I think you’ve got to stay engaged. If you have time whilst your not shooting, write something, make something”
